Paso Fino Fiesta in King Kamehameha Day Parade

Date-2011-06-11

Hawaii Paso Finos presented three of our horses in this year's annual King Kamehameha Day Floral Parade in Kapaau, Hawaii.  Our theme was "Spanish Fiesta" in honor of the Paso Fino's proud Spanish heritage, and the deep connection that the Hawaiians have for the first horses that came to the islands in 1803 with the Mexican Vaqueros who were used to round up the wild bullocks that roamed free on Hawaii Island.  These first horses were very close cousins to the Paso Fino breed.  The parade is always fun for us, and the horses have become big crowd pleasers!  With Gaucho leading the way, Contrachina and Borrasca followed, bedecked with red and yellow flowers and ribbons, all dancing along to the sounds of the Spanish Guitar.
